5 to 1 Reporting systems consolidated into one screen
A transportation marketplace tracked its finances across five separate systems and a stack of spreadsheets. We built one dashboard that shows revenue, margins, cancellations, and exposure together, refreshed hourly, with every figure linked back to its source.

01The problem
Growing firms rarely have one place to see the business. Revenue sits in the billing system, margins in a spreadsheet someone maintains by hand, cancellations in the operations tool, and exposure in whatever the finance lead last exported. Each source has its own numbers and its own definitions.
The result is a familiar routine. Before every leadership meeting, someone spends hours pulling exports, pasting them together, and reconciling totals that never quite match. By the time the picture is assembled, it is already out of date.
Worse, when two reports disagree, nobody can say which one is right. The argument shifts from what to do next to whose number to trust.
02What we built
One screen
Revenue, margins, cancellations, and exposure on a single dashboard. Leadership opens one page instead of five systems, and everyone in the room looks at the same numbers.
Automated pipelines
Data flows in from each source system on a schedule. No exports, no pasting, no spreadsheet someone has to remember to update. The pipeline does the assembly that used to take hours.
Refreshed hourly
The dashboard updates every hour, not at month-end. When something moves, cancellations spike or margin slips, it shows up the same day, not weeks later in a closing report.
Source-linked figures
Every number on the screen traces back to the records behind it. Click a figure and see the transactions that make it up. When a number looks wrong, the answer is one click away.
One set of definitions
Revenue, margin, and cancellation are each defined once, in code, and applied the same way everywhere. The definitions were agreed with the finance team before a single chart was drawn.
Drill-down views
The top screen answers how the business is doing. Below it, filters by segment, period, and product answer why. The same data serves the board summary and the analyst digging into a dip.
03What changed
Five reporting systems became one screen. The pre-meeting scramble of exports and reconciliation disappeared, because the assembly now happens automatically, every hour.
Leadership stopped debating whose spreadsheet was right. With every figure source-linked, a disputed number takes one click to resolve instead of a week of email.
The cadence of the business changed too. Problems that used to surface at month-end, a run of cancellations, a margin slide in one segment, now surface the same day they happen, while there is still time to act.
The finance team got its hours back. Time that went into copy-paste now goes into reading the numbers, which is the job the dashboard exists to serve.
A real engagement, anonymized. Client details are withheld under confidentiality.
Next step
Still assembling your numbers by hand?
If your revenue, margins, and exposure live in different systems, we build the one screen that replaces them. Your data, your definitions, refreshed on a schedule you set.
